Global educational reforms to facilitate youth involvement in global policy spaces

アバター: Everest Wangoya Everest Wangoya

The over-aching goal has been for the inclusion of the youth in areas of global policy development and leadership in global spaces. I'm proposing the development of or suggestion of creation of uniform tertiary(graduate education) that favours this inclusion across the globe.

The reality is that technically, the exposure required to participate as youth in such fora, requires in most cases, advanced education- mostly graduate research, or exposure to the workings of such organizations as the UN. The truth is the exposure to such organizations either through internships or otherwise is limited. Also, it takes a long time to develop the technical and professional experience for inclusion into such spaces eg. A student in the UK can enroll into a bachelor's degree and is given the option for an extra year then graduate with a masters education in the relevant sector. This is not the case for most developing countries. I think applying such kind of a system could be a faster way of equipping younger Africans with the ability to join high level institutions early in their careers just as their compatriots in other developed states do because of the advantage that comes with option to merge certain higher educational options and develop required expertise early enough.
